Todd Van Wieren has been in the food service industry for over 30 years.
He started as a dishwasher and worked his way up to being a Certified
Executive Chef (CEC). He is from Saugatuck, MI and attended Saugatuck
High School before attending Grand Rapids Junior College’s Culinary
School. As a proud member of the American Culinary Federation (ACF),
he has served on the Board of Directors as Vice President, Certification
Chair, Competitions Chair, and Grand and Scholarship Chairperson.
Over the years, he has competed in many professional Culinary Competitions
and has won numerous ACF medals and awards. In 2004, Todd was the ACF
chef of the year, the ACF’s most prestigious award. Todd has
worked in Holland for over 20 years and has opened two of Holland’s
Hotel and Conference Centers. After leaving the area to open the Four
Winds Casino in New Buffalo, Michigan he has returned home to the Holland
area to serve as the Executive Chef at Boatwerks. Todd leads an impressive
group of people who take great pride in making every dining experience
wonderful.
Nate Fryer
Sous-Chef
A Decorated Corporal, Nate served multiple tours in the Marine Corp. and has been in the restaurant business for over 10 years. His work experience has taken him around the world where he has worked at places such as Officer’s Club in Japan and Tiki Bar Lounge in Australia. Nate has been at Boatwerks since opening day in 2006, starting as a prep cook and then working his way up to AM Sous Chef. Nate has put his vast experience to work here at Boatwerks and love the business.
